Workshop Terms of Service

Effective date: February 2025

Our Agreement

By using this website or booking a slot in our Bristol workshop, you are agreeing to these terms. FC Azerbaijan is a private club for owners of 80s and 90s supercars. We focus exclusively on vehicles from 1980 to 1999. If your car falls outside this date range, we likely aren't the right fit for your project. To be upfront, we don't use corporate jargon or complex legal traps. We believe in mechanical honesty. This means we expect our clients to be as straightforward with us as we are with them.

These rules apply to everything we do, from sourcing a rare gearbox in Japan to performing a 4.45-hour engine bench test. We might update these terms as our workshop grows, but the core focus on factory-correct standards will never change. If you use our service calculator, please remember it is just a rough estimate for labor. It is not a final contract. Every project is unique and requires a proper technical audit before we commit to a final schedule.

Workshop Fees & Parts

We charge a flat labor rate of £85 per hour for all workshop activities. When we provide a written estimate, it covers the time our 8 specialists expect to spend on the bench. However, supercars from the 90s often have hidden issues like brittle wiring or corroded seals that only appear once we start the tear-down. If we find a problem that adds more than 3 hours to the project, we will pause and call you immediately. We don't believe in surprise bills.

Parts are a separate cost. Because we use a global parts network of 43 suppliers, prices for original items can change daily. We source New Old Stock whenever possible to keep your car period-correct. We don't mark up parts with hidden fees, but we do charge for the time spent tracking them down and handling customs. A deposit is usually required before we order expensive components from overseas or start a major V12 rebuild. This keeps our 14 active projects moving forward without delays.

Restoration Standards

We work strictly from original factory blueprints. This is non-negotiable. If a part no longer exists, we will not 'make it work' with modern generic bits or duct tape. We will find a verified original or rebuild the component to the exact specs found in the heritage technical drawings. This is why we have helped 37 cars reach show podiums in the last 4 years. If you want to supply your own parts, our lead technician Marcus Thorne must inspect them first. If they aren't period-correct or of high enough quality, we will refuse to fit them.

We handle all international shipping and customs paperwork for the parts we source. This is a complex process, but it ensures that rare items reach our Bristol workshop safely. On one project last year, we saved a client £3,800 on import fees by using the correct heritage classification codes. We take pride in these details because they protect the value of your car. Our goal is always mechanical honesty and a finish that is built to last.

Liability & Workshop Rules

FC Azerbaijan is a working shop, not a public showroom. For the safety of our staff and the 14 projects currently on our lifts, visits are by appointment only. We don't allow unannounced drop-ins. While your car is with us, it is stored in a secure, climate-controlled environment. We carry standard workshop insurance, but we strongly recommend that you maintain your own specialist classic car policy. These 80s and 90s icons have complex electronics and era-specific fuel systems that can be temperamental even with the best care.

We are not responsible for mechanical failures caused by parts we did not install or previous work done by other shops. Every engine rebuild we perform includes a mandatory 4.72-hour bench test to ensure reliability. We log every torque spec and every bolt to factory standards. Honestly, we'll say no to a project if we feel the car is too far gone to be restored safely. Our reputation is built on doing things the right way, and we won't compromise that for a quick job.
