Common questions at the bench
A few things owners usually ask us before they bring their car to the workshop for the first time.
Do you work on supercars newer than 2000?
No. We focus exclusively on icons from 1980 to 1999. This allows us to keep our global parts network and workshop-grade tools specialized for that specific era.
Can I supply my own parts for a project?
You can, but we have to verify them first. We check every component against original factory blueprints. If a part is not period-correct or is a poor-quality replica, we will not fit it.
How long does a full engine rebuild take?
A full mechanical overhaul usually takes 7-9 weeks. This includes stripping the unit, sourcing New Old Stock parts, and a mandatory 4.67-hour bench test to check for leaks and heat issues.
How do you calculate your workshop fees?
We're not the cheapest workshop in Bristol, but we are the most thorough. We charge a flat rate of £85 per hour for labor. Parts are quoted at current market rates with no hidden markups.
Do you handle international parts shipping?
Yes. We handle all the customs paperwork and shipping logistics to bring rare components from Japan, Italy, or the USA directly to our workshop in Bristol.
